South African Airways, flight of delight
South African Airways (SAA) is the leading airline on the African continent, and annually receives awards from numerous top-rated publications and international organisations for Best African Airline.
SAA is 75 years’ old and was one of the first national airlines in the world. The airline carries more than 6.9 million passengers a year on an expansive route network into Southern Africa, the African continent and internationally on a fleet of modern and new aircraft. SAA operates brand new, state of the art, Airbus A340-200, A340-300 and A340-600 aircraft on its network, including India. SAA operates four flights a week directly between Mumbai and Johannesburg.

SAA's service in Business class offers an ultra-modern shell with privacy screen, lumbar massage, large one-piece tray table and individual cocktail tables, three automatic settings of upright cradle and bed with variable settings for the leg rest, seat height, lumbar support and back rest.

The Service on Demand Menu will consist of two light choices (a salad and/or a starter), four hot selections, one dessert, and a cheese platter. There is a selection of top South African wines, boutique French champagnes and a variety of hot and cold beverages. While designing the menus, a South African theme features strongly. Menus are changed every three months.
Flat Bed Vs Lie Flat Seats
While airlines often market the Lie Flat seats as having 180 degrees of recline in their fully reclined position, they are actually horizontal. Passengers often find that these seats are not conducive to sleep when in fully reclined position because of the awkward angle.
